However, the novelty of the national law is given not so much by its content in the field of privacy, but by the inclusion at the last moment of its title X, digital rights of citizens, which seeks to bring the digital field the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution and in the International Treaties and Agreements of which Spain is a party, making them fully applicable on the Internet. Thus, the new national standard incorporates 17 new digital rights that aspire to respond to issues arising from the penetration of new technologies in the day to day of individuals.
Leaving aside the rest of the articles of the LOPD-GDD, it is interesting here to mention the novel regulation by this norm of the impact of Internet and new technologies in educational centers. And is that the law incorporates (ex article 83) the important and novel right to digital education, which aims to ensure the insertion of the student in the digital society and learning by the child of a safe use of digital media and services . And which currency, besides face, this right has a cross, the requirement to the educational centers of the fulfillment of the above.
